
WHAT IS VAPING?
What is Vape is probably the most frequently asked question we get every day. That question is often asked along with questions like:
- Is vaping harmful?
- Does it contain tobacco leaves?
- Is vaping safer than smoking?
The general answer is probably something you can figure out, but here is the answer that defines what vape is?
DEFINITION OF VAPE
Vaping can be defined as the act of inhaling a vapor through a personal vaporizing device.
Vape or electronic cigarette can be considered as an alternative to cigarettes. It is similar to smoking but eliminates some of the harmful effects or negative effects caused by cigarettes such as: no bad breath, no breath odor, no harmful effects from tobacco leaves, no cigarette butts, less likely to get cancer and other related diseases, especially does not affect people around.
To put it simply, vape is the name given to the use of a vaporizer (a device used to vape). This process involves using high heat to create vapor from liquid medicine ( e-liquid ). People who use vapes are called vapers (and if they smoke regular cigarettes, they are called smokers).
HISTORY OF VAPE
Contrary to what many of us think, vaping was “born” about 5 decades ago (1960 to be exact). Back then, vapes were not what they are today – that is, vaporizers back then were not as pocket-friendly as the modern version. They were quite bulky and could only be kept on a table.
The genius behind the device is Hon Lik, a Chinese pharmacist inspired by his father’s death from lung cancer. He called the device Ruyan, which roughly translates to “like smoke.”
Ruyan became popular, and gradually took over the US market in the 2000s, and then the word “vape” was born.
STRUCTURE OF A VAPE DEVICE (VAPORIZER)
Vaporizer consists of small parts put together, including:
- Body : is a device that contains a battery to provide power to the burner and can be charged via a USB port.
- Burner : is where the essential oil is stored and is responsible for receiving power from the machine body to heat the burner, then vaporizing the essential oil.
- Essential oil : Also known as e-juice/e-liquid, is the flavoring ingredient for smoking. This is a liquid made from water and other ingredients, including nicotine . It can be tasteless or have different flavors, now there are hundreds of flavors for you to choose from. E-liquid includes ingredients such as: Vegetable glycerin (VG), Propylene Glycol (PG), nicotine and flavoring. These ingredients will be converted into steam under the heating aid of the burner. Currently on the market there are 2 main types of essential oils: Freebase Essential Oil and Salt-nicotine Essential Oil
HOW TO VAPE?
If you are completely new to the “vape world” then you will probably be curious with the question: how to vape?
E-liquids are classified by Nicotine/mg concentration: mild (3mg), medium (6mg), strong (12mg). There is also a 0mg type which means no nicotine for those who just want to vape without using Nicotine. Higher Nicotine concentration will cause a feeling in the throat, called in English “throat hit” or “kick”. It depends on the person and the Nicotine concentration they want.
Tip: To start we recommend starting with the lowest strength e-liquid (0mg or 3mg), and then gradually work your way up according to your own level of nicotine addiction.
WHERE TO START
To start, you should find yourself a basic vape kit ( Starter Kit ) or an All-in-one ( AIO ) kit, for beginners. These vape kits have the following common features: moderate power, including the body and burner, easy to use and maintain.
WHERE CAN I VAPE?
You can vape wherever you like (since it’s not a drug), but vaping is becoming more and more “legalized” around the world. Like smoking, vaping may be restricted or banned in some places. So, to be polite to those around you, you should ask or follow the laws there (if any).
BENEFITS OF VAPE
There is a never-ending debate about whether vaping is safe or not. After all, the food we eat every day is not 100% good for our health, right?
However, I can say that based on various studies, vaping does involve nicotine, but does not contain tobacco leaves. It has its own form, which means that nicotine is inhaled through water vapor, so it does not have any negative effects on the heart. It produces a vapor that evaporates quickly, so there is absolutely no risk to people around you from inhaling the smoke.
Vaping also does not cause unpleasant odors. Vaping will still satisfy your nicotine needs but avoid the negative health effects, even worse, cancer.
What's more? Vaping has no social stigma, no fire, no cigarette butts.

But try to quit smoking and instead vaping, the effects are the same but I guarantee vaping will be more beneficial to your health.
