In the old days, the first cigarette factory was established in 1640, in fact, Columbus discovered and mass-produced Native American tobacco as early as 1492. It was not until the 19th century that medical experts began to discover and speak out about the harmful effects of cigarettes on health. Today, we have vaping, an alternative to smoking for those who cannot quit this habit, thanks to its potential to reduce harmful effects on health. But will we have to wait another hundred years to know the long-term effects of vaping on human health? Fortunately, no.
There is scientific evidence to support that vaping has little or no long-term effects on users' health. A typical example is a 2-year study published in ScienceDirect in 2018 to find out the effects of e-cigarettes (called EVPs in the article - Electronic Vapor Product). The results showed that there were NO signs of decline in users' health after a period of using e-cigarettes. Volunteers in the survey also said that they gradually lost their cravings for cigarettes, and their nicotine dependence also disappeared after the second month of using e-cigarettes. This not only proves the potential to reduce the harm of vaping, but also proves that vaping is an effective alternative to traditional cigarettes!
Taking a walk around our community, it is not difficult to come across stories of vapers who have used vapes for 3, 4, 5 years, or even more, but when they go for a chest X-ray, their chest X-rays are still completely normal. That is the truth and I have personally experienced it: During the 4 years of using vapes, I still went for regular health check-ups, and the results were still stable. Even after contracting COVID, my health is still very good. This is completely contrary to many sources that say vapes are as harmful as cigarettes. If the risk of vaping is really equal to or even higher than that of cigarettes, then I have been "smoking" continuously for 6 years, combined with post-COVID, there must be signs of declining health, right? But I have not seen it yet. That is to say, I think the opinions that long-term vaping will affect the health of users at the present time are not very reliable.
After all, the more news sites and websites publish information like “e-cigarettes affect health when used long-term”, the more it proves that the effects of vaping on health are being concerned. Therefore, taking vaping out of the “gray area” of community prejudice is extremely important. The first step is to build a community of users with full knowledge, correct understanding of vaping and civilized and appropriate use of vaping. So, don’t hesitate to share more information or even criticize your content so that the group can gain more valuable knowledge!
