Like many people, I started smoking at a young age, 15 to be exact, and I haven’t really kicked the habit since. I’m 36 now, and a few years ago, I noticed that vaping and e-cigarettes were getting more and more media attention. I, like many others, thought these devices looked silly and weird. Their marketing was focused on helping people quit smoking , and e-cigarettes back then and their marketing were not appealing at all. The industry was still young, desperate to find a foothold and a solid consumer base to rely on.
I want to quit smoking
Like many smokers, I really wanted to quit. I liked other smoking cessation aids like nicotine gum, patches and the most important thing was willpower. Gum, patches and willpower really didn’t do anything to kick the habit and the cigarettes I used to love.
Over the years, the e-cigarette industry has become something very attractive to smokers. It is now quite common to see someone using a vape pen while walking down a busy street. These vapes offer many more options and variety than the cigarette-like e-cigarettes that were popular in the early years.
The appeal of vape pens is their variety. From simple designs that only include a tank and battery, to complex designs that include removable batteries, RDA -style tanks with adjustable airflow. There are a lot of options for you, and for people who like electronic devices like me, they are a great discovery.
Vape pens also allow users to choose their own e-liquid . This is the fun part, and the options for e-liquids are seemingly endless. Nicotine levels and PG/VG ratios can be customized to the user’s liking, and that’s before you even pick a flavor! Mixologists are popping up everywhere with unique e-liquid flavors. It seems the only limit is your imagination.
Progress
I was so excited to fill my first kit with essential oils. Taking it apart and putting it back together became an addictive process. I’m a geek, so this was really fun.
And as I said at the beginning, after finding the ideal e-liquid flavor and device, I was immediately hooked and forgot about traditional cigarettes. It was incredibly easy, quitting smoking without any side effects, and all thanks to my little vape device .
Community
Vaping and vapers are also a large and growing community. When vaping in public, I always get a knowing look or a nod from fellow vapers. That, combined with the many other online resources and communities, makes vaping a rich and interesting world. There are now vape cafes popping up everywhere and the trend continues to grow as the industry grows.
And of course there’s more fun to be had, like taking some really cool selfies. Love them or hate them, they exist, I have a few of them. Vape selfies are extremely popular, just search Instagram and you’ll see thousands of results from vape trickers , or simply vapers showing off their collection. They’re definitely more fun than a photo of a billionaire pouting.
