Distinguishing between sub ohm tanks and regular tanks

On the surface, sub ohm tanks and regular tanks do not have many differences. However, they also have characteristics that determine whether your vaping experience is good or bad. Professional vapers with many years of experience know the pros and cons of this type of tank, they often consider it a secret and only share it with people who are serious about using and improving vaping. Regardless of the industry's perspective on these burners, we can still point out the clear differences between sub ohm tanks and other types of tanks.

Difference 1: Amount of essential oil

Since sub ohm tanks are typically used with high-wattage box mods, the amount and type of e-juice can vary greatly from those used with conventional atomizers. Since high-wattage box mods are designed to produce large clouds, they typically require more e-juice per puff. Sub ohm tank users typically stop once or twice to refill e-juice, and heavy smokers stop even more frequently. That being said, different amounts and types of e-juice can produce different throat hits. Sub ohm tanks typically produce stronger lung hits.

Difference 2: Air vents

Another huge difference between a sub ohm tank and a regular tank is the type of airflow and adjustability. Regular tanks only have about one or two airflow holes, and starter kit tanks usually have quite tight airflow holes to create the feeling of smoking a cigarette. Sub ohm tanks usually have at least three airflow holes, which can be customized to the user's preference. Usually, they will open the airflow holes all the way to increase the ability to create smoke. Customizing the airflow holes plays an important role in adjusting the rate of smoke production and flavor of the tank.

Difference 3: Type of essential oil

The type of e-liquid used in a sub ohm tank is a little different. Since more e-liquid is used per puff, the amount of nicotine in the e-liquid needs to be less than the regular e-liquid. You will see sub ohm tank vapers usually vape e-liquid with nicotine levels below 6mg, because they say that higher nicotine levels cause a bit of a sore throat and discomfort.

Additionally, sub ohm tanks are often designed specifically for high VG e-liquids. While e-liquids tend to contain more PG, the best e-liquids for sub ohm are VG e-liquids because they are thicker and can produce more vapor. VG also has a slightly sweet taste, so many vapers find VG e-liquids to taste a little better.

Sub ohm tanks and regular tanks may have a lot in common, and what we’ve outlined above are just the key differences between the two. Knowing these differences will help you choose the one that best suits your vaping preferences. Choosing the right atomizer is crucial to your vaping experience, and knowing the other three differences can help you make an informed choice.
