Nursing team applies vaping from November 16

Vaping can change lives, and no one knows this better than the nurses at University Hospital in Leicester, England. This passionate group of nurses are so committed to vaping as a smoking cessation tool that they take to the streets and shopping malls to spread the word about the health benefits of e-cigarettes.

November is UK Lung Cancer Awareness Month, and these pro-vaping health professionals will be at Beaumont Leys Shopping Centre from 9am to 4pm on Thursday with an important message for all customers and passersby. E-cigarettes are an effective way to quit smoking.

Nurses will be teaching people about the early symptoms of lung cancer. After all, it's never too early to learn about lung care. And Leicester's nurses are making sure the event is entertaining. Last year, their display of lung models was a big hit with shoppers.

For these professional nurses, lung cancer is no laughing matter. And as the UK moves towards a smoke-free country by 2040, they want to show anyone who will listen that vaping is a fun and useful tool for quitting smoking.

Around 500 people are diagnosed with lung cancer each year in and around Leicester. And the university hospital team are dedicated to caring for them. Unfortunately, lung cancer is not always curable, so these angels of mercy see many cancer deaths. In their eyes, vaping may be the best way to reduce cancer.

Leicester nursing team are good company

While it may be hard for Americans to imagine a local nurse group setting up a booth in a shopping mall promoting vaping, this form of advocacy is already being used in many places. In September, the DANA Alcohol and Drug Nurses group also publicly endorsed vaping.
