What is e-liquid?

What is E-juice/E-liquid?
As mentioned earlier, vaping uses e-liquid to create vapor. E-liquid contains a mixture of vegetable glycerin (VG) , Propylene Glycol (PG) , nicotine , and flavorings.

What is Vegetable Glycerin (VG)?

VG is an organic substance extracted from vegetable oils such as coconut oil and palm oil by heating at high temperatures under pressure with water, from which it is isolated and distilled to obtain the purest product. VG is mainly used in the food industry for two roles: it has a sweet taste but has fewer calories than sugar (for example, diet foods that do not use sugar are often used instead of VG); VG also has a very good hygroscopic ability by absorbing moisture from the air. Therefore, VG is mainly used to sweeten foods and keep them moist.

What is Propylene Glycol (PG)?

Also an organic substance extracted from Propylene Oxide. PG is colorless and odorless. Certified safe by the US Food and Drug Administration, PG is used in the food industry as a preservative and humectant.

The Difference Between VG/PG

Coming back to vaping, VG is thicker and denser than PG, and PG is sweeter than VG. Simply put, a higher VG ratio will produce more vapor, while a higher PG ratio will produce more flavor and sweetness. PG is also the main factor for the throat hit. 50PG/50VG is a common ratio in e-juice, but there are also 30PG/70VG, 40PG/60VG, and 100VG for users who like more vapor.

Nicotine

Nicotine is not the main ingredient in e-juice, we can vape without nicotine, nicotine is mostly used by smokers as a replacement and to help users quit smoking. Nicotine concentration is usually divided into 5 levels.
No – 0mg Nicotine
"Light" – 3mg Nicotine
"Medium" – 6mg Nicotine
"Heavy" – 12mg Nicotine
"Super Heavy" - 18mg Nicotine
