We all know that keeping your vape device clean is not an easy task. From the drip tip that needs to be kept clean, to the atomizer that needs regular maintenance to avoid cracks and spills , it’s easy to forget what and when to clean. But it’s important to emphasize that keeping your vape device clean is the best way to ensure your device can function properly for the rest of its life.
Vape components need to be clean. While the design and manufacturing teams try to keep their devices clean, there are always parts that get dirty. Take atomizers for example, many of which have a clear glass window so you can see how much e-liquid you have left. E-liquid can quickly build up and cloud the glass. It’s not something the manufacturer does on purpose, it’s a chemical reaction that no modern technology can avoid.
This example may sound frivolous, but regularly cleaning the important parts of your vape device also brings certain benefits. Simply because the sticky residue on the device over a long period of time will also affect the machine's performance.
Think of it like a rust spot on your car. A small paint scratch may look like an eye sore. However, that scratch will eventually rust. The rust will spread to other parts, causing more damage that is harder to repair, and which might not have happened if you had taken care of the small scratch in the first place. Cleaning it early and often is also an important part of car maintenance.
The atomizer is one of the most maintenance-intensive parts of any vape mod you use. This also applies to clearomizers and any water-flow atomizer. You only need to rinse it with hot water once to remove the buildup. This buildup is created during the vaporization reaction of two components in the e-liquid. One is the sugar that crystallizes from the e-liquid. Many e-liquids are sweetened, so they contain sugar molecules. These molecules heat and cool quickly, forming a precipitate that eventually forms a sticky film.
Another cause of buildup is heat from the coil causing scale to form and affect the performance of the coil. You should clean both the burner and the coil (and replace them if necessary), as this buildup can cause damage to the device.
Another part that needs to be kept clean is the drip tip, because it is prone to picking up a lot of bacteria because the user's hands or mouth are constantly touching it. Although bacteria are usually quite neutral, it is not uncommon for something toxic to come into contact with the drip tip.
To clean the drip tip, simply remove it from the burner, rinse it with warm water, and wipe it clean with a soft cloth. If you want to be extra careful, you can soak a cloth with a little alcohol to wipe the drip tip, then rinse it with water.
A clean vape device can ensure both safety and comfort for users. It is good for both you and the device, so don’t be lazy to clean your device regularly.
