What is a vape coil?
As one of the most important parts of an electronic cigarette, the vape coil is responsible for vaporizing the essential oil contained in the atomizer.
Simply put, a coil is a piece of metal made of a material that can effectively convert electricity into heat, used in vapes to provide heat for essential oils to evaporate into smoke for the user.
Depending on the purpose of use (smoke or flavor), the user can choose the type of wire, transforming it into many types with different characteristics based on factors: amount of smoke, amount of flavor, which flavor to turn on, nicotine strength, heat level...etc.
Basic types of vape coils
When it comes to vape coils, users often get confused between material and wire type.
Divided by alloy material to make the wire: Kanthal, Nichrome, Nickel, Titanium, SS (stainless steel). Most of the above materials are relatively popular, stable, and the safest is still Kanthal material due to its stable heating properties over time. Some others have thermal shock properties that make users choose according to their preferences such as SS, Nichrome.
Split by wire combination: this part is more diverse and has more experiences.
There are many named wire combinations, this article will only cover the most basic coils, you should know that out there are always countless builders creating new coils day and night.
Single coil: single does not mean just installing 1 coil in the atomizer, it means the coil you are installing is made from smooth round wire according to the manufacturer's available size. For example: single Kanthal coil 26: means the coil is made from the basic wire available in the manufacturer's coil, wire size 26. Don't underestimate single wire, top vapers who play mesh mechanism prefer single wire.
Clapton Coil: smooth round wires usually size 26-28 are covered with a super small wire size 36 or 38, this type will give a smaller ohm number due to the larger cross-section of the wire compared to the single wire. The temperature is equivalent to the single coil but the flavor will be higher, more prominent and richer than the single vape coil.
Coil Fused Clapton: processed like Clapton, but will have 2 cores instead of 1 core like Clapton. This coil is very popular in the Vietnamese market because it gives the best experience compared to the price, and is also suitable for most users. It gives a little more flavor than Clapton, the amount of smoke is also very good.
Alien Clapton: This type has 3 cores, and the step of wrapping the wire outside the 3 cores is also extremely difficult, the outer layer is even shaped like a zigzag to increase the length of the grooves so that more essential oil can stay in the coil. Delicious but very hot and almost only suitable for sweet flavors.
Variant vape coils: Twist (twist 2 single coils of the same wire size), Typhoon: wrap 2 twist 30 (4 cores 30), Mohawk: Wrap 1 span of chicken intestine to create a pointed crest shape, a variation of alien. There are countless other types that cannot be listed, the only way is for you to research and experiment.
Types of vape coils suitable for beginners
For beginners, you will be confused when hearing the seller or your friends talk about coils for vaping. But calm down, play from single wire, why?
If you play good coil from the beginning, you will not know what good is.
New players are not familiar with how to use it, do not know how to adjust the power, they are advised on everything but are not explained why.
The main thing you need to know here is that when you first start playing, everything is new to you, your tongue is not used to those flavors, your lips are not used to the heat, and most importantly, your taste experience is not there yet. Your nose and mouth need to learn how to analyze and recognize flavors, measure whether the position is right, whether the nicotine strength is right, and recognize whether this juice is of good quality. You will not get used to all of that right away.
If you use a good wire from the beginning, you know it's good, but when you switch to using a different type of wire with a different type of juice, you won't understand what you're missing. I've encountered many cases where people struggled with many types of wire but still didn't find it good, and in the end, they just quit vaping.
You need to know what is not good, what flavor is missing, what nicotine is lacking, or what sweetness is lacking, and then adjust it based on the wire you are using to best suit yourself. No one can know what you need but you.
So take it easy and play with single strings for at least 2 months until you are confident in your knowledge. Some people may already have a refined taste, but vaping is still a new thing so for the most part, it is best to take it slow, right?

There is a lot of information on the internet, if you hear a name, search it on Google or YouTube. Usually, this information will help you visualize the most basic way to make a vape coil. However, there are always people who go first, and their small experiences will help you get up to speed much faster, and success will come much faster.
If possible, join a small community, make friends who vape, or just talk a little more, with experienced technicians in the vaping world. You will discover many really interesting surprises.

How to maintain vape coils
During use, you will need to replace cotton and clean the coil. Cleaning is also very important for the vape coil to get the best quality of suction.
Every time you clean the coil, you will have to burn the wire and dip it in water to wash it. This causes the coil surface to oxidize faster in conditions where there is always juice. Some of you must have experienced a situation where the suction is flat but it is clearly not due to the cotton. The longer you leave it dirty, the more times you have to wash it to get it clean, right? That affects the coil more clearly than you think. Periodically, cleaning the coil only needs to be done once, the coil will last much longer.
Cleaning vape coils should be done periodically, RDA is best every 3 days, RTA every 5 days.
